Shadow of the Cherry Blossoms

In ancient Japan, a princess and her lover run away from their pursuers. When it became apparent that they would be caught, they vowed to commit suicide rather than have the princess return to her former life. Both of them took their blades to end their lives but something went wrong. Now one of them seeks revenge for being abandoned.

Hana no Kage was first produced as a 17 min 06 sec version and later on released as a 15 min version on the web. The 17 min 06 sec version won the fine art award at the 18th DoGA CG animation contest and was theatrically released afterwards, the uncut version is also part of the DVD of the collection of the selected works at the 18th DoGA CG animation contest. The 15 min version won the excellent award at the 2nd Kichijoji animation film festival.
