On Floating Light Island—a place where deities may dwell—humans and a group of Cat Eggs live together. Driven by various intense obsessions, the cat eggs transform into cat spirits. These cat spirits blend into human life, tending their own fields; running chain grocery stores; entering the entertainment industry as popular idols; becoming shrine maidens; or choosing to rule over a mountain... And so, countless funny and heartwarming stories unfold in the daily lives of boys, girls, and cat spirits.

Top reasons
- Domestic episode engagement (Niconico) - 14,799,777 episode views on Niconico (JP domestic)
- MAL community size - 496 MAL list entries (watching/completed/planned)
- Titles like this rarely return - 5 years with no new entry: of short series (first entries) in that position, 7% got a new season or film within 10 years
This is an anime original, not an adaptation, so there is no source material to run down - renewal turns on sales and popularity rather than runway.
