Two eight-year-old boys compete in a game of childish bravado. Ken is a Ninja, Nito a child soldier from the Congo who was forced to kill his own mother. Their naïve game addresses cruel realities, and they talk about their differences and what they have in common. Accompanied by contrasting graphics, the film explores the types of acts of which humankind is capable.

Top reasons
- Cross-platform audience rating - Weighted audience rating 58.2
- MAL community size - 550 MAL list entries (watching/completed/planned)
- Titles like this rarely return - 14 years with no new entry: of films (first entries) in that position, under 1% got a new season or film within 10 years
Runway
Anime original
This is an anime original, not an adaptation, so there is no source material to run down - renewal turns on sales and popularity rather than runway.
